5-2-0: I Love You
Symbiosistas first ever YouTube video was just released, it’s about the importance of May 20th in Chinese culture. You can check out the video here, or read the general content below.
In Chinese culture, great significance is placed on numbers. This importance is due to their similarity in sound to other words. In the Chinese language, words that have particularly positive or negative meanings are thought to bestow good or bad luck.
Numbers also have specific importance when it comes to romance. For example, January 13th, 2014 was considered one of the most romantic days of this century because of the numbers 13-14, in Chinese sound like 'one love for one life.' This day had the highest number of recorded marriages in the history of the People's Republic of China.
That brings us to the numbers 5-2-0, which in Chinese sounds like: I love you. It is a sort of Chinese Valentine's Day. On May 20th, many Chinese people give gifts of money or flowers in amounts such as 52 or 520 as expressions of love. At Symbiosistas, our goal is to provide you with the power you need to live so that you can have the power to love.
